Jim McGorman, a native of Philadelphia, is a guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist. Best known for his work with the House Band on the CBS television shows Rockstar: INXS and Rockstar: Supernova, he has been musical director for Michelle Branch and toured with Cher. When McGorman toured with Cher on her Farewell Tour, he played guitars, keyboards and sang duets. He has also played with the New Radicals, Poison (band) and Marc Broussard. He has written songs for TV shows such as "One Tree Hill" and "Smallville." TV performances include "The Tonight Show," BBC's "Top of the Pops" and MTV's "TRL."  Jim performed with Michelle Branch on the TV series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (episode: Tabula Rasa) and with Dilana Robichaux (the runner-up from Rock Star: Supernova) on Ellen DeGeneres. In October/November 2006, Jim and the House Band toured the United States with Paul Stanley (from KISS).  In January 2007, Jim became a member of Avril Lavigne's band and will tour with her throughout 2007/2008.

Regarding the Rockstar TV show house band, he says that he feels his role is a multifaceted one: guitar, keys and singing. "Plus, being a writer/artist myself, I feel that I understand how to work with the singers. From a guitar perspective, I try to capture the original tones of the records we play, from guitars to tunings and effects. Rafa has a unique tone that he really likes, so the more I get the original tones right, the more I think the audience will relate to the performance." [3]

Other members of the House band include: Rafael Moreira (lead guitar), Paul Mirkovich (keyboards), Sasha Krivtsov (bass) and Nate Morton (drums).

Jim, on Jamestown Ltd and recording the CD ..."Well, Jamestown is my baby. I’ve been working on music my entire life, and this is my first full-length record. I wrote – or co-wrote – all the songs, produced the record, and obviously played guitar, keys and sang. I’ve been working with a lot of the same musicians over the years in L.A.; the drummer (Dave Allen), bass player (Jon Button), and I have been working on original stuff for almost seven years. The three of us played for Michelle Branch when I was her Musical Director from 2001 to 2002. Emerson Swinford (guitar) and I have been writing and playing together for longer than that, and David Levita (guitar) has been a great contribution to the recording process. Though we are all pro players and are generally really busy working on other projects (to pay the bills), this is something we have done for ourselves. I am incredibly proud of the record and how we all worked together to make it happen.We’ll see where it goes from here." [4]

Musical Influences"Everyone in my family is musical or some sort of performer. My mother was a dancer, and my dad plays piano and sings. My dad, though, really got me going with music. He showed me the beauty of chord changes. Mom was more of a "word writer." I got my love of lyrics from her. I guess you could say I'm very fortunate to have talented and supportive parents. - Started playing piano at six, drums at eight, guitar at 12, and I've been singing since I was born." [6]
McGorman cites a number of popular music influences, including soul music of Gamble and Huff, and the rock of Coldplay and U2.

EducationGraduated Cherry Hill High School East, 1992; graduated Berklee College of Music in 1995 with a degree in audio engineering and music production.[7]

Devin Bronson (Born Seattle, Washington, May 15, 1983) is currently Avril Lavigne's lead guitarist and previously held positions with Kelly Osbourne's backing band and the Canadian rock band Treble Charger. He is also playing and touring with Ashley Parker Angel. Currently Devin is playing a series of Acoustic shows with Ashley.

Bronson replaced Evan Taubenfeld when Taubenfeld left Avril Lavigne's band in 2004. Bronson and Taubenfeld remain close friends. Bronson's first performance with Avril Lavigne's band was at the 2004 Fashion Rocks! concert in New York where Avril performed 'Iris' by The Goo Goo Dolls with Johnny Rzeznik. Bronson was given only a few days to learn how to play the mandolin for that performance. [1]

Devin has now joined Evan Taubenfeld's band The Black List Club as lead guitarist. He will be joining the band later this year once they begin touring.

Mark London Spicoluk played bass for the band Closet Monster until their final show on December 8, 2005, and has previously played with Avril Lavigne and Sum 41. He appeared in the music videos for Avril's hit singles 'Sk8er Boi' and 'Complicated'. [1]

Jesse Colburn was born on 5 May 1981 in Ajax, Ontario, Canada and is an accomplished guitarist. He played guitar for Closet Monster until their final show on 8 December 2005 and he also previously played in Avril Lavigne's band from 2002 to 2003.

Personal life
Jesse Colburn attended Pickering High School in Ajax, Ontario, where he met many members of Closet Monster.

Avril Lavigne has admitted that she and Colburn had dated. [1]

He previously also dated ballerina Amanda McCartney.


Television appearances
Colburn has appeared on several television shows and a movie, including Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, The View, Going the Distance and the 2002 MTV Video Awards as himself.

He has also appeared in the documentary "My World".

Craig Wood is Avril Lavigne's ex-rhythm guitarist and was previously a member of the Vancouver pop punk band, Gob, where he played bass guitar. After Avril's ex-boyfriend Jesse Colburn left in 2003, Craig replaced him in Avril's band to play rhythm guitar.

Matt Brann was born on 14th November, 1980 and hails from Ajax, Ontario. He was past Avril Lavigne's drummer and previously held position of drummer of high school bands Second Opinion and Norman.
He started playing drums when he was 12, but it wasn't until when he attended Exeter High School that he started to play in a band called Second Opinion along with a few school friends (including Jason "Cone" McCaslin from Sum 41) at the age of 14. They played together for about 5 years around their local town and outside of Toronto. When he was about 19 he joined another band from Toronto called Norman, but unfortunately, Matt quit after about a year as they never really got along.
Then luck struck at 2002 when a friend of his who was on the same management as Avril Lavigne had gotten signed and needed to put a band together. Matt called Lavigne's management Nettwerk and they flew him to New York to meet her. He auditioned for the role of the drummer and successfully became part of Lavigne's band.
As Avril Lavigne's drummer, he performed at many different venues, including London Astoria and attended numerous award shows. But when asked what his most memorable moment of his career was so far, he said it was having the honour of playing "Fuel" at the MTV Icon Metallica Tribute. Brann grew up listening to and playing Metallica so the honour of having Metallica sitting in the crowd while he and the rest of Lavigne's band played their song was, in his own words, "wow".[1] As well as a being a drummer, he is also a song writer. He, along with now ex-bandmate Evan Taubenfeld, co-wrote "Freak Out" with Lavigne in her second album "Under My Skin".
After being in the eighteen-month Bonez world tour with Lavigne, which started in September 2004, he, along with the rest of the band, took a well-earned break while Lavigne pursued an acting career. During this time, Matt went back to the studio and worked with various Canadian bands such as The Operation and The New Cities with their albums.

Charity OrganisationsMatt has been known to be involved in several organisations, most notably for his support for Autism Ontario - Durham Region. During the Toronto concert on 15th July 2005, , he displayed the Autism Ontario - Durham Region logo on his bass drum to raise more awareness about the charity. He is also a supporter of animal-rights organisation PETA. In 2005, he donated autographed drumsticks to benefit PETA’s “Kentucky Fried Cruelty” Campaign. The donated drumsticks were up for auction with proceeds helping PETA make Kentucky Fried Chicken face the music and eliminate the worst abuses that chickens endure on factory farms.[2]

Charles Moniz (born Burlington, Ontario, October 31, 1980), was formerly Avril Lavigne's bassist and previously held position as the drummer for the band Grade.

Charles (aka Charlie, Chaz, Chucky) attended Nelson High School in Burlington, Ontario where he was introduced to one of his first band experiences through his older sister Michelle. Already a proficient drummer by the time he started grade nine, he was snapped up by a band comprised mostly of senior students called Euphoric Crush. Charles stayed with Euphoric Crush for a little over a year, playing the Burlington, Ontario and Hamilton, Ontario bar/cub scene before the group disbanded as the lead members moved onto post secondary education. Before the break-up of the band, a demo was recorded in a practice space built in the basement of Charles's parents -- it was at this time Charles and the bassist (Paul Sveda) teamed up with Mike Baker (who engineered the recording) to form a new band in 1995.

With Baker on vocals and guitar, the threesome called themselves Balm. The group immediately fell into a steady stream of weekend shows, sparked in large part by the growing profile of the area's premiere independent record label, Sonic Unyon, and the accompanying increase in the number of viable all ages venues in the area. Balm recorded an 8-track ep, "Shoegazer", and gained enough momentum that they began headlining their own shows (despite the fact Charles's young age -- he was only 15 when the band formed -- often kept the group from appearing at non-all ages venues), gaining some notoriety around Burlington, Ontario and Hamilton, Ontario and playing with the likes of Grade, Slurpy Mundae, SianSpheric and the Rainbow Butt Monkeys (aka Finger Eleven). Balm's final recordings were 4 songs for a CD release of local Burlington, Ontario bands; produced in part by Sianspheric's Steve Peruzzi, the recordings were far and away the group's crowning achievement, showcasing both the band's Codeine-inspired glacial roar and Charles's rapidly evolving restrained style. Following a short hiatus during which time Mike moved away to university and Paul was replaced by Hamilton native Brad Isaacs, the group renamed themselves Toshiro and played two final shows (one in support of the CD release of Burlington-based electronic duo Oprph-Onic) before calling it quits in late 1997/early 1998.

Following the demise of Balm, Charles turned his attention to bass guitar while continuing to play drums for several local outfits, including The Pettit Project. Shortly thereafter, Grade -- who at the time were going through personnel changes -- enlisted Charles to record and tour in support of "Headfirst Straight to Hell", the group's final release. Grade broke up in July 2002 and had their last performance at Edge 102.1 FM's Edgefest in Barrie, Ontario, but opportunity knocked once again with the offer (which arrived via a network of friends) to play bass in Avril Lavigne's band in the fall of 2002.[1]

Charles was an active member of Avirl's touring band until February 2007 when he, Craig Wood (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Matt Brann (drums) were replaced by session musicians in advance of the release of Avril Lavigne's album "The Best Damn Thing".
